Brian O. Mealy

Town Councilman

Brian O. Mealy is a lifelong Mattituck resident, public servant, and community leader with deep roots on the North Fork. A graduate of Mattituck High School, he was raised by parents who instilled in him a lifelong commitment to service — a value he has carried through every role he has held. He is Head of Circulation at Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport, where he has worked for more than sixteen years.

Brian brings extensive experience in governance and fiscal oversight to the Town Board. He was a member of the Mattituck-Cutchogue School Board from 2016 to 2020 and served on the Suffolk County Sheriff's Community Advisory Board, which brings residents together with the Sheriff's office to provide input on law enforcement policies and community relations. Brian is currently serving his third term on the board of Eastern Suffolk BOCES, which delivers shared educational services to school districts across eastern Suffolk County, with an operating budget of $600 million.

Brian was first elected to the Town Board in 2021, making history as the first African American elected to the Southold Town Board, and was re-elected in November 2025.
