Meet Our Candidate

Liz Gillooly

Incumbent Candidate for Southold Town Trustee

My Service to Southold Town

Over the past four years, I have worked hard to deliver thoughtful, effective leadership on behalf of our residents and I am honored to be seeking re-election to continue serving our community with dedication and vision, while delivering real results.

Since my election, I have served as the liaison to the Conservation Advisory Council (CAC) and to the Peconic Estuary Partnership, where I strengthened our Town’s presence and advocacy for critical environmental initiatives.

I have also played a key role in updating the Trustee chapters of our town’s municipal code, helping to codify what was previously just precedent making it more user-friendly and easier to navigate.

Professionally, I am the Director of Operations at the North Fork Arts Center, where I oversee complex projects, improve internal systems, and demonstrate the leadership, organization, and collaboration skills essential for effective governance. I am also a licensed sailboat captain and owner of a small business base in Greenport. Being out on the water gives me a firsthand view of the challenges facing our environment — and a deep, personal commitment to protecting it for generations to come.

My experience, both in town government and in my professional life, has strengthened my belief in transparent leadership, sustainable growth, and the importance of balancing tradition with innovation.

Most recently, I brought an even more personal connection to my public service: in March, I welcomed my first child. This new chapter has only deepened my commitment to building a vibrant, resilient future for all of our families.

It has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve our community, and I am excited to continue working hard, listening closely, and delivering results we can all be proud of.
