Nick Krupski
Town Trustee
Nick Krupski is a farmer, scientist, and environmental steward whose life has been shaped by the land and waters of the North Fork. Born and raised in Cutchogue, he lives and works on the family farm, carrying on a tradition his grandfather and father built. The farm — and the creeks and beaches surrounding it — are where his commitment to Southold's natural world took root.
Nick earned a Bachelor's degree in Geology and Environmental Science from SUNY Cortland and a Master's degree in Biology and Education from LIU. His academic path led directly to hands-on environmental work at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program, where he focused on shellfish and marine habitat restoration. He also consulted at Superfund sites across the country, helping to measure groundwater influx and assist in remediation efforts. He is currently employed at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Nick has served on the Board of Trustees since 2017 and is currently its Vice President. During his tenure he has worked on living shorelines projects, served on the review committee of the Shellfish Aquaculture Lease Program, and pushed for code changes to better protect Southold's waterfront. After nearly a decade as Trustee, his mission remains unchanged: balancing waterfront access with environmental sustainability and the long-term health of Southold's marine habitat.
When not at work, Nick spends his time outdoors with his wife Rachael and their two daughters, taking full advantage of the North Fork's remarkable natural environment.
