William Flinter
Town Tax Assessor
William Flinter has called the North Fork home for nearly all his life. A Mattituck native, he attended Mattituck High School, where he met his wife Danielle. The two went on to Siena College in upstate New York, where William earned a Bachelor's degree in finance. After graduating, they returned to Mattituck, where they now live with their children Collin and Lena.
William's career spans two sides of the financial world. He has worked at American Portfolios Financial Services, a Long Island-based financial services firm; at Farm Credit East, an agricultural lender with deep roots in North Fork farming communities; and at M&T Bank, where he currently works as a Relationship Banker in Cutchogue, having played a key role in the transition from People's United Bank to its new parent corporation. That breadth of experience — across investment services, agricultural finance, and retail banking — has given him a firsthand understanding of property values and the local economy.
As Chair of the Board of Assessors, William is focused on making the office a resource for every resident — approachable, honest, and grounded in accurate, equitable property valuations. Beyond his professional work, he partners with local civic associations and volunteer groups — a reflection of the same commitment to community that has kept him rooted on the North Fork his entire life.
